This is one of our VERY favorite items for laundry rooms. It’s skinny, rolls and can be used in spaces that would be otherwise be unused.

Designate a hanging area. If you’re lucky enough to have wall space make sure you set it up. But if not, you can get creative. A hang bar can go over the main walkway. With clothes always drying, you’ll be forced to keep the laundry train moving alo

We love fold down/out/in options. These hang boards can be used for smaller items in the upright position, and fold out for larger ones. Plus clothes dry fast! Options like this are great as they can essentially dissapear. Take them down, put them o

A folding station is an absolute must. Designate a section of your counter, create an island, or make a rolling cart that can move around.

Designate a space for ironing, too. You can even piggy back on the folding table and get a board that will lay on top. Make sure to give it a place to live when you’re not using it.

There are always options for hidden laundry tools. For example if you only have one wall, you could hang your drying rack above, put a fold out table below, and then put everything away when you’re done.

Lose change and lint (we like finding one of these in the dryer more than the other) - Have a place to collect those quarters until they add up. Don’t forget about a place to find all those missing socks!

Designate a hamper system. It’s always best to have separate hamper for in room “dirty hampers” and laundry room “clean hampers”. If it works best for your family to sort them as they drop them in the laundry room we love this idea.

Or utilize a two bin hamper for darks and lights. If everyone separates them as they take them off at the end of the day, you’ll save yourself a lot of time and mess without having to sort them all out.

A schedule can be really helpful. The schedule can be done many ways. Give each person a day and they must have their laundry sorted in the laundry room that morning, or they must complete their own before the end of the day. Maybe you like to do

Give each person a day and they must have their laundry sorted in the laundry room that morning, or they must complete their own before the end of the day. Maybe you like to do it all in one day, designate that day and let everyone know when and where to drop it. Make a schedule, post it, and stick to it!

Have a communication central. Somewhere you can post whose day it is, or the full schedule. And just like you would in your kitchen have a “to - buy” list. If you are the one to use the last of something, jot it down.
